"I create an atmosphere in paintings that speaks to me and to others. Vivid and saturated colors are always present, for they represent the energies that I perceive around and inside of me.

I seek to free myself from traditional thinking and to transform my daily perceptions. Whenever I am in a situation, my inner eye constructs a story, which like in a dreamlike state, drifts off to the unconcious realm. In other words, you could say, that I plasm my daydreams onto the canvas. But the transformation of these visions continue during the painting process.

The exploration of different territories, within inner and outer worlds, challenges me to extract aspects of them and to put them both in the same terain, just to see what happens. This study is also a selection of symbolic metaphors, that enrich and question the story of a composition. "


Martin Axel is a self taught visual artist, based near Zürich, Switzerland.

In addition to his own series, he accepts private and corporate commissions worldwide. His works can be found in Europe, South America and USA.
